Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco – Paucartambo – Cloud Forest – Pilcopata
Highlight of the Day: Travel through the breathtaking Cloud Forest and observe the famous Cock of the Rock, Peru's national bird, in its natural habitat.
Your adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Cusco between 5:30 AM and 6:00 AM. Travel through scenic Andean valleys, traditional farming communities, and spectacular mountain landscapes on your way to Manu National Park.
Visit the pre-Inca funerary towers of Ninamarca before continuing to the charming colonial town of Paucartambo, an important cultural gateway to the Amazon. From there, ascend to Acjanaco Pass (3,850 m / 12,631 ft), where you'll enter the Manu National Park Cultural Zone and enjoy panoramic views over the cloud forest.
As you descend into the lush Cloud Forest, discover orchids, bromeliads, giant ferns, waterfalls, and one of Peru's richest ecosystems. Stop at a traditional Cock of the Rock lek, where you may witness the spectacular courtship display of Peru's national bird before continuing to your comfortable lodge in Pilcopata.

Day 2: Pilcopata – Atalaya – Amazon Lodge
Highlight of the Day: Cruise the Madre de Dios River and experience the sights and sounds of the Amazon from the water.
After breakfast, continue by road to the river port of Atalaya, passing local plantations where bananas, pineapples, coca, and other tropical crops are grown. Along the way, your guide will explain how these traditional crops support local communities.
Board a motorized boat and navigate the Madre de Dios River, one of the highlights of the journey. Keep watch for capybaras, kingfishers, herons, and the impressive King Vulture, one of the largest scavenging birds in the Amazon.
During the afternoon, explore rainforest trails surrounding your lodge while searching for tropical plants, insects, amphibians, and other fascinating wildlife. After dinner, join an optional night walk to discover tarantulas, frogs, nocturnal monkeys, boas, caimans, and many other rainforest species that become active after sunset.

Day 3: Amazon Lodge – Parrot Clay Lick – Machuwasi Lake
Highlight of the Day: Visit the colorful Parrot Clay Lick and explore the peaceful waters of Machuwasi Lake.
Wake up early to witness one of the Amazon's most remarkable wildlife spectacles at the Parrot Clay Lick. Watch parrots, parakeets, and small macaws gather to feed on mineral-rich clay while your guide explains this fascinating natural behavior.
Continue exploring the surrounding rainforest in search of squirrel monkeys, capuchin monkeys, howler monkeys, titi monkeys, wild pigs, toucans, woodpeckers, macaws, parrots, and many other species that inhabit this extraordinary ecosystem.
In the afternoon, visit beautiful Machuwasi Lake aboard a traditional wooden raft. Look for capybaras, the prehistoric Hoatzin, cormorants, herons, horned screamers, and other aquatic wildlife before returning to the lodge. An optional night excursion is available for travelers wishing to observe additional nocturnal species.

Day 4: Amazon Lodge – Atalaya – Cusco
Highlight of the Day: Enjoy one final journey through the Cloud Forest before returning to Cusco.
After breakfast, take a short boat ride back to Atalaya, where your private transportation will be waiting for the return journey to Cusco. As you travel through the cloud forest, there will be additional opportunities to stop and observe birds, beautiful scenery, and changing landscapes along the eastern slopes of the Andes.
Arrive in Cusco at approximately 5:00 PM, where your unforgettable Manu National Park 4 Days 3 Nights adventure comes to an end after four days immersed in one of the world's most biodiverse natural environments.

Important Notes
- Health and Safety: Manu National Park is not considered an endemic area for malaria or yellow fever. We recommend bringing insect repellent. If you choose to receive the yellow fever vaccine, it should be administered at least 10 days before departure.
- Itinerary Changes: Activities may be modified due to weather conditions, river levels, or operational requirements while always prioritizing passenger safety and the quality of the experience.
- Transportation: This expedition combines comfortable tourist transportation with motorized river boats, providing access to remote areas of the Manu National Park Cultural Zone.
- Wildlife Observation: Wildlife lives in its natural habitat. Although sightings are frequent, they cannot be guaranteed and vary according to season and weather conditions.
