Day 1: Cusco – Cusipata – Rainbow Mountain – Cusco

Your adventure begins early in the morning with pickup from your hotel in Cusco. We travel through the scenic South Valley, passing traditional Andean villages, agricultural fields, and beautiful mountain landscapes on our way to Cusipata.

Upon arrival, you will enjoy a delicious breakfast before continuing to the trailhead. The hike starts through spectacular highland scenery where alpacas and llamas can often be seen grazing peacefully. Along the route, you will enjoy panoramic views of Ausangate Mountain, the highest peak in the Cusco region and one of the most important mountains in Andean culture.

After approximately 1.5 to 2 hours of hiking, you will reach the famous Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca). Here, you will have time to admire the mountain's vibrant natural colors, take photographs, and enjoy the incredible scenery surrounding this unique destination. Your guide will share information about the geological formation of the mountain and its importance to local communities.

For those seeking an additional adventure, an optional visit to the Red Valley viewpoint is available. This impressive area offers dramatic red-colored landscapes and spectacular views of the surrounding Andes.

After exploring the area, we begin our descent back to the trailhead. From there, we travel to Cusipata where a buffet lunch awaits before returning to Cusco. We arrive back in the city during the late afternoon and drop you off near your hotel.
