Manu Jungle Tour 3 Days / 2 Nights

Pre-trek briefing:

We will have through briefing with your guide 1 or 2 days before your Manu Jungle Tour 3 Days 2 nights.

Your guide will meet you at your hotel and you can take this opportunity to ask questions and make any final preparations.

Day 1: Cusco – Paucartambo – Cloud Forest – Pilcopata. 

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in our company van between 05:30-06:00 am. We’ll then embark on a journey along winding Andean roads to Manu National Park, We will cross beautiful inter-Andean valleys and picturesque villages until arriving at the pre-Inca tombs of Ninamarca. The next stop will occur in the village of Paucartambo which features a beautiful colonial bridge.

From Paucartambo the altitude will keep on increasing and the setting gradually gets enveloped by a cloudy mist. The road leads you to Acjanaco pass consisting of the main gateway to Manu National Park. Once across Acjanaco Pass (3550 m / 11.647 ft).

From here, we travel down through pristine cloud forest which feeds the local flora unique to this clime. We will continue our drive down the hill through the pristine cloud forest passing different picturesque waterfalls and lush scrubland. We will be stopping in the cloud forest to spot the Peruvian National Bird, Cock of the Rock. Our local tour guide expert will be explaining more about the distinct bird in detail.
We’ll arrive at our lodge in the Manu National Park, where you can unwind and rejuvenate after an exhilarating day of exploration.

Day 2: Pilcopata Lodge – Atalaya – Machuwasi Lake – Amazon Lodge.

Starting the day off we’ll take a guided tour around the lodge, with an emphasis on local medicinal plants, peruvian Amazon fruit trees and coca plantation. After we’ll visit to the animal rescue center (donation only). Once in the Rescue Center we can enjoy spider monkey, titi monkey, capuchins and pet the tapir and others animals

After we continue to the town of Atalaya, 600 m (1,968 ft), where we’ll board a boat for a 30-minute journey to our lodge. A long the boat trip we will see many of animals, birds, plants and flowers.

In the afternoon, we will visit Machuwasi Oxbow Lake, on the way there are great birding and wildlife spotting opportunities and in the oasis of the lake live caiman, the prehistoric bird hoatzin (Opisthocomus hoazin), capybaras (the largest rodents in the world) and other Amazonian aquatic life.

Following dinner, we’ll set out on an exhilarating evening hike to further explore the region’s natural wonders. We’ll spend the night at our comfortable lodge, surrounded by the beauty of the Peruvian Amazon.

Day 3: Amazon Lodge – Parrot Clay Lick – Atalaya – Cusco.

We will leave early to visit the parrot clay lick, we’ll board our river boat to visit the parrot clay lick nearby. Weather conditions permitting, we’ll have an unforgettable look at parakeets, parrots, and (with luck) macaw pairs dining on the mineral rich clay they use to help supplement their diet and improve their digestion.

It’s a truly vibrant site with all the colors and movement. After returning for breakfast, we pack in to the boat and head for back up river to Atalaya (Manu National Park), where we rejoin our minivan for the winding and beautiful drive back through the cloud forest to Cusco, The arrival in Cusco between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm.

Important Notes:

1. Manu Jungle Tour 3 Days 2 Nights is not endemic area about Malaria neither Yellow fever you can bring a good insect repellent but if you decide to put the yellow fever vaccination for prevention you can do it 10 days before start your trip to the Manu National Park.
2. Bearing in mind the uncontrollable forces of nature, the program could be subject to changes at any time.
3. Manu area is a rainforest that has remained intact because of it hidden location. This means the program involves much traveling by bus and boat (for 3-day tour). However, it also means you are in a part of the Amazon rainforest that has no comparison, with an untouched flora and fauna!
4. Every group can contain people who travel for 3, 4, 5 or 8 days.
