Explore the impressive Salkantay and Humantay Trek 2 Days 1 Night, On this two day adventure, you enjoy the peacefulness and serenity of nature, as well as its exquisite beauty.
Visit two of the most impressive places that nature gave us in our region of Cusco in Peru, Lake Humantay and Salkantay Mountain. You can also spend the night in our exclusive Camping under the starry Andean sky and learn everything about the constellations that were very important in the Inca period.
This new route is an incredible walk that we will have for 2 days, visiting the Humantay Lagoon, which is located at the foot of the necado of the same name and is covered by glaciers, waterfalls, rivers and lagoons, these places are the very beautiful natural landscapes that you will visit.
It will be an unforgettable experience in our itinerary, we will also visit the majestic snowy Salkantay, from this highest point we will have a panoramic view of the entire area, in this adventure we will enjoy Mother Nature.
You will have thorough briefing with your guide 1 or 2 days before your Humantay Lake and Salkantay Pass Trek 2 Days 1 Night. Your guide will meet you at your hotel and you can take this opportunity to ask questions and make any final preparations.
We will pick you up from your hotel at 5:30 am, then we will take our private transportation for 2 hours to the town of Mollepata. Once here, we will stop to enjoy a delicious breakfast.
Then, we’ll continue for 1 hours our journey until we reach Challacancha for a short rest. From here, we’ll begin our walk toward our camp in Soraypampa. This first stretch isn’t too challenging
and it will help you adjust to the altitude. You’ll notice you follow a small Inca canal most of the way as you take in the impressive Andean scenery.
We will arrive at our camping site, in front of the majestic and snowy Salkantay and Humantay mountains, where the reception staff will be waiting for you with an exquisite lunch. Afterward, you’ll have time to rest in your camping or wander around the site before we prepare for our afternoon hike.
After our lunch, We’ll climb uphill to Humantay Lake (4,200 m / 13,780 ft) for 2 hours, taking it easy due to the altitude. Once you reach the top, you’ll have time to take in the breathtaking view of the jewel-like lake among the snowy, white backdrop.
You’ll then return to our Camp for a delightful dinner and star-gazing. Your guide will tell you all about Inca astronomy. When you head to bed, you’ll be able to stare out of the roof of your igloo and let the constellations send you off to sleep
After our breakfast, we continue with our walk towards the highest point of this trip. Along the way we will find wonderful landscapes bordered by an impressive set of mountains before arriving at Salkantaypampa, where we will take a rest.
Then, we will continue ascending a challenging trail known as “the trail of the seven Snake” until reaching the impressive Salkantay Pass at (4,630 m / 15,190 ft). some time at the pass to take memorable photos, enjoy the fantastic scenery and you’ll also participate in a small Andean ritual to honor the Apus.
Then, we will begin to descend along the same route for approximately 2.5 hours to our Soraypampa campsite where our private transportation will be waiting to take us to the town of Mollepata to enjoy our lunch. After lunch, you will continue with a two-hour trip back to the city of Cusco, arriving at approximately 6:00 p.m.
