Sacred Valley with Moray and Salt Mines

This is a fantastic Sacred Valley with Moray and Salt Mines day excursion to visit the whole Sacred Valley. The Sacred Valley is a treasure trove of ancient Inca archaeological sites and stunning natural landscapes that will simply take your breath away. As you can imagine, agriculture represented a huge challenge for the Incas due to the steep and mountainous terrain of the Andes.

However, the Sacred Valley is an expanse of fertile, lush land with endless sources of fresh water. This was the heart of the Inca land; The temperature is mild compared to the rest of Cusco and the views are incredible.

Our tour takes you on a comprehensive journey through traditional weaving villages and the Inca ruins of Pisac that remain a true representation of Inca agricultural practices. We explored a camelid farm surrounded by llamas, alpacas and vicuñas among many other camelids.

Driving along the main road, we visit the experimental agricultural terraces of Moray and the pre-Inca salt mines of Maras, which still function as a main source of income for this small community and supply Peru with over 90% of its salt.
