This is a short version of the Inca Jungle trail 3 Days 2 Nights. This tour was created for those who are seeking more adventurous activities such as biking, rafting, and zip-lining. This version of the Inca Jungle Trail omits a day of walking, without sacrificing any of the adventure, and ends at same magical destination Machu Picchu.
You will have a through briefing with your guide 1 or 2 days before your Inca Jungle Trail 3 Days 2 Nights. Your guide will meet you at our office in Cusco and you can take this opportunity to ask questions and make any final preparations.
The Adventure will start with pick you up from your hotel at 6:00 a.m. to begin our Inca Jungle trail. Afterwards, we’ll head to Ollantaytambo (1:45 hrs. of driving), where we have a short stop to buy some items that you could need along the tour. We continue in our private van for 1.20 more hours until we arrive at the Malaga Pass (4,316 meters above sea level) (14,160 feet above sea level).
This is where we begin our bicycle tour down the mountain. Your tour guide will give a quick informational briefing and provide all riders with the appropriate safety gear before the 3-hour mountain descent (about 34 miles or 55 km) to the town of Huamanmarca. From there, we continue our journey by bus for approximately 30 minutes until we reach the town of Santa Maria, where we have our first lunch and then have river rafting activity during the afternoon (level I, II, III, and III+, during April-November) on the Urubamba River, which crosses through part of the jungle.
Once we done with this, we take our van towards Santa Teresa for around 40 minutes driving, there is the location of our lodge to spend the first night, also you will be available to join the hot spring before your dinner.
After our delicious breakfast, get ready for an action-packed day. Around 8:00 am, the zipline company will pick you up and transport you to the zipline base. After an orientation, embark on a thrilling 2-hour adventure across four different ziplines and a suspension bridge. Once you’ve had your fill of ziplining excitement, take a 1-hour car ride to Hidroelectrica for our lunch.
After lunch, we will start to trek to the town of Aguas Caliente, passing through the area called Intihuatana, a small archaeological site. Here our guide will teach us about this site. Along the journey, we will have the opportunity to take in the majestic Machu Picchu mountains and other constructions at the top of the mountain.
We will end the walk at roughly 16:00 hrs in the town of Aguas Calientes where we will spend the second night in hotel.
On our last day, you will get up very early to visit one of the 7 wonders of the World – ¨Machu Picchu¨. At 5:30 am. We will go directly to the line to wait for the first buses to Machu Picchu.
We will arrive at the gate when the sky lights up and ascend to the top of Machu Picchu, while taking in the impressive views of the city. On a clear morning, the sunrise over Machu Picchu is magnificent; This moment is unforgettable.
Our tour guide will take you on a 2-3 hour guided tour, where we will visit the Sun Temple, Royal palace, Main Temple, Three Windows Temple and Sun Dial. It will be an unforgettable experience.
If you have booked Wayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, you will need to coordinate with your guide for Machu Picchu visiting depending on your scheduled time to the mountain, for people not hiking any of the mountains there are some other optional activities on your own ( not included in the price).
Train back to Cusco: In the afternoon you will return to the train station in Aguas Calientes for the trip back to Ollantaytambo. Upon your arrival to train station you will be transferred by car to your hotel in Cusco.
It is recommended to carry only the luggage necessary for the days of the trek. Large backpacks with unnecessary equipment should be left in Cusco, at the hotel or at the main office.
